BisonBord® is covered on both sides with decorative paper that has been infused with melamine resin using heat and pressure. When the resin-coated paper is pressed, the resin flows and hardens to create a smooth, non-porous surface. This means there are no microscopic pores for germs to hide; it also makes the surface so much easier to clean with a damp cloths.

The cured melamine surface provides a durable finish that is scratch and moisture-resistant. To finish the job, the edges of the cut MelaWood® panels are sealed using a suitable glue and edge-banding material – this gives each panel the best protection possible against exposure to moisture.

As a further benefit, a special anti-bacterial additive is blended into our melamine resin, which helps destroy any bacteria that may come into contact with the surface within hours.
